Being a public school teacher allows me to witness the daily effects of school board governance on our students, our community
and our staff.
My vision is rooted in this practical classroom experience. I am committed to leadership that reflects our diverse community and empowers district employees. I will advocate for mindful policies that prioritize the specific needs of our students, supportive faculty and families.
What Matters to Me
Teaching and Learning
I support the district's efforts to maintain overall rigor and excellence for all students while closing achievement gaps. I believe in recruiting, maintaining and supporting the highest-quality teaching staff in the state. I believe in continued increase support for a robust and academically challenging middle school experience and proactive career and post-secondary planning.
Inclusive Schools
Ensure equitable access to a robust, holistic educational experience that prepares every student for a successful future by embedding challenging academics, vibrant arts, and competitive athletics into a supportive environment that prioritizes student mental health.
Governance
I work to support the district’s commitment to inform and engage the community, students and staff. I believe in ensuring fiscal responsibility and accountability by measuring and tracking the effectiveness of programs and resource allocations
Why I Am
Running
I work in a public school classroom every day. I experience the effects of school board policies and directives in my professional life. I believe the seven positions of the school board should not only be reflective of our community we seek to serve but also those directly impacted by our decisions.
I seek to listen and learn so that I may understand issues and current concerns, but I am ultimately driven by actions and results. I understand the balance between the local, state, and federal parameters by which a public school must abide but am committed to seek solutions and opportunities that will be the best for our students, staff, families, and communities. I work collaboratively with my fellow board members to seek out policies that will be both legal and beneficial for each and every one of the students in Eastern Carver County Schools as well as the dedicated staff that works with them every day.
Why Vote For Me
I believe that each and every child should have access to the highest quality education possible. I believe a school board member should be willing to partner and collaborate with everyone in the system responsible for the success of our schools. I have a record of speaking my truth yet being collaborative. I believe that public education is essential to the democratic process and the survival of our nation. I will be unwavering in my dedication to the success of Eastern Carver County Schools.
